Curriculum Overview

Month 1: Fundamentals & Hands-On Basics

• Surgeon Console Test Drive: Hands-on exploration of robotic surgery functions and benefits.
• In-Service Training:
  ○ Port placement and docking
  ○ Intraoperative management and troubleshooting
  ○ Emergency undocking procedures
• Assisting in Robotic Surgeries: Observe and assist as the first assistant to build confidence.
• Online Learning Module Completion: Earn a training certificate after passing the assessment.

Month 2: Advanced Exposure & Surgical Assisting

• Simulator Training (25 Hours): Enhance hand-eye coordination and dexterity.
• Skill Drill for Suturing: Perfect essential suturing techniques with guided practice.
• Case Reviews and Discussions: In-depth analysis of robotic hysterectomies and reconstructive surgeries performed by Dr. Urmila Soman and other experts.

Month 3: Case Management & Console Fluency

• Perform Independent Robotic Surgeries under the supervision of Dr. Urmila Soman.
• Video Review Analysis: Identify strengths and areas for improvement in surgical techniques.
• Case Documentation: Maintain meticulous case logs for certification.

Completion and Certification

• Achieve Console Certification from Intuitive Surgical, endorsed by Dr. Urmila Soman.
• Certification Requirements:
