Curriculum Overview
Months 1 & 2: Building Foundations – Master hand-eye coordination and understand the fundamentals of laparoscopy.
- Pelvic Training Didactics: Simulator-based exercises to enhance precision and coordination.
- Case Observation: Gain insights into surgical techniques by observing real cases.
- Lectures: Core topics include laparoscopic techniques, instrumentation, and operating room ergonomics.

Month 3: Intermediate Training – Gain practical exposure to laparoscopic techniques.
- Port Placement: Learn optimal placement for various laparoscopic procedures.
- First Assistant: Assist in laparoscopic surgeries, developing confidence and surgical acumen.
- Surgical Video Reviews: Analyze procedures with mentors, focusing on technique refinement and troubleshooting.
Month 4: Hands-On Training – Begin performing basic laparoscopic procedures under expert mentorship.

- Suturing Techniques: Master intracorporeal and extracorporeal knot tying and tissue approximation.
Month 5: Independent Procedures – Basic Cases – Perform basic laparoscopic surgeries independently under supervision.

Completion and Certification
Achieve Certificate of Excellence in Advanced Gynecologic Laparoscopy from Intuitive Surgical, endorsed by Dr. Urmila Soman, upon successfully completing the program and performing 25 supervised surgeries. Documentation of all cases performed and assisted is mandatory.
